South Africa has abundant mineral resources and is one of the five major mineral resource countries in the world, with over 70 types of minerals identified and exploited.

At the 2025 African Mining Conference, Mantashe, Minister of Mineral Resources of South Africa, emphasized that Africa should utilize its abundant mineral resources to promote local processing value-added, to contribute to the socio-economic development of the African continent.

South Africa plans to utilize coal resources to support energy transformation and promote the value-added of mineral processing, which will stimulate the demand for advanced mining machinery.

At the same time, South Africa has launched the “zero harm” program to promote the safety upgrade of the mining industry, and further benefit the intelligent and automated mining equipment market.
