According to a report by 6Wresearch, it is expected that the compound annual growth rate of Pakistan’s building materials market will reach 6.9% between 2024 and 2030, with the main sources of growth concentrated in the construction of residential and commercial areas. In terms of steel, Pakistan’s steel demand exceeds 7.5 million tons annually. Due to the limitations of local steel production capacity, imports have become an important way to meet demand, especially for high-end steel. In the past two years, China’s steel exports to Pakistan have significantly increased. Data shows that in 2023, China exported about 1.6057 million tons of steel to Pakistan. From January to July 2024, China exported 1.3329 million tons of steel to Pakistan, a year-on-year increase of 67.57%. The main product types include galvanized coils, structural steel, steel billets, hot-rolled coils, etc.

In terms of ceramic sanitary ware, with the improvement of urban residents’ living standards, middle-income families in cities have corresponding demands for ceramic tiles, sanitary ware and accessories. The main product types include ceramic tiles, wall tiles, toilets, washbasins and bathtubs. At the same time, the demand for environmentally friendly and water-saving bathroom products in the market is also constantly increasing.
In terms of sheet metal, it occupies an important position in the Pakistani construction market and is widely used in residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. From the perspective of product types, plywood, density board, fiberboard, and particleboard are in high demand in Pakistan, especially with a significant increase in demand for fire-resistant and waterproof boards.

In addition, there is also a certain demand for electrical equipment, paint, adhesives, pipelines, lighting equipment and other related products in the local area.
